Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

Location: Hershey, PA (Central Pennsylvania service area)

Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Varies / On-Call

Pay Rate: $22/hour

About the Role

MOBILITY Patient Transport is looking for compassionate, dependable drivers to join our non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) team. You'll transport patients, including wheelchair-bound individuals, safely and comfortably to and from medical appointments, treatments, and facility transfers across Central Pennsylvania.

What You'll Do

  • Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, rehab facilities, and treatments (including wheelchair and stretcher transport as needed)

  • Assist patients in and out of the vehicle, using wheelchair lifts/ramps and securement systems properly

  • Communicate with dispatch and care facilities before, during, and after each trip

  • Review patient needs before pickup and relay relevant paperwork or instructions at drop-off

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and properly functioning vehicle

  • Respond calmly and appropriately in the event of a medical concern during transport

  • Complete trip logs, mileage records, and required documentation accurately

  • Provide friendly, respectful, and patient-focused service at all times

What You'll Need

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Must be insurable under company auto policy

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) check, and drug screening

  • CPR and First Aid certification

  • Comfortable assisting patients with mobility limitations, including wheelchair transfers

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, caring demeanor

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

  • Prior experience in NEMT, rideshare, healthcare, or customer service is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/assist up to 50 pounds when helping patients or equipment

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and safely operate a vehicle for full shifts
